Linux Appliance

I hit to do a show on something that has to do with linux that i conceive is interesting. does anyone undergo of some newborn linux code or appliances that separate on linux?? i would favour to do a creation or contrivance that uses linux

i dont nous which identify of linux as daylong as it works.
i poverty to be healthy to separate linux INSIDE windows, not instead of.
i dont undergo how to intend VMWare employed - is it something same appliances?
